Other areas that I have looked at in relation to the trailers are the actual representation and presence of women in the games.
The first trailer, Call of Duty MW3 has no women that I can obviously see throughout the whole trailer, this along with an analysis of the trailer clearly backs up just how male oriented this game is. When I review the Just Dance 3 trailer on the other hand this trailer is full of both sexes, even possible more weighted towards female.
Although Just Dance 3 has women in the trailer, it was still only one of two games that I would say are female orientated out of the 2011 top ten.
After looking at this it got me thinking about a journal I had read while carrying out secondary research into games and gender and It got me to thinking about games that don't particularly include women and this quote ‘the gender issues involved in design are too complex to be solved by just “adding women and stir” ‘ It is probably true that just including women in the games still wouldn't make games such as Call of Duty appealing to them.
